A New Eco School Possibility….from Serena
“I am in the final year of a BSc (Hons.) Environmental Studies and for a number of years was a primary school teacher. I left teaching because I was appalled at what we were doing to our children in primary schools. It is my intention to open a school, initially for 4 primary school children in September 2009. I want this school to be in a yurt (which I would also live in). The children would learn through an individual learning programme, based upon the environment, ecology, the arts and activities for daily living. For example they will learn science, literacy, numeracy, history and geography through growing, foraging for and buying food, which we would then cook for their meals. I need somewhere to site a yurt, shed and outdoor oven, and of course 4 children who would like to learn in this way. If anyone can help, or would like more information, please contact me on 0191 4134227″

How to create a low maintenance edible garden/allotment
1st November 08

The visit will give an opportunity to see how to maximise space on an allotment plot or garden using multi layered edible planting.
